Company Updates 

MicroStrategy, a software company led by Bitcoin proponent Michael Saylor, has added 5,445 more Bitcoin worth $147.3 million to their corporate treasury, bringing their total Bitcoin holdings to 158,245. The company started buying Bitcoin for its treasury in August 2020 and has increasingly acquired more since.

Coinbase, one of the world's largest Bitcoin and crypto exchanges, has been granted approval by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to offer Bitcoin buying and selling services to retail and institutional investors. This milestone marks Coinbase's expansion into the Singaporean market, and follows its approvals in Europe last week. Coinbase is hoping to gain the trust of Singaporean investors with its reputation for regulatory compliance and security, and the move reflects the broader trend of crypto exchanges seeking regulatory approval.

AnchorWatch, a new Bitcoin insurance provider, announced raising $3 million in their seed round led by Ten31. Other investors participating in the seed round include Axiom, Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, UTXO Management, Timechain, and others.

Obscura officially launched and opened its waitlist for beta testers. Created by well-known Bitcoin Core developer, Carl Dong, Obscura offers VPN benefits with zero ability to tie your personal information to your browsing activity. The new service directly accepts Bitcoin as payment.

Theya, a Bitcoin multisig self-custody service targeted at newcoiners, announced its Mobile Multisig Wallet. The Y-Combinator-backed start-up went live with the public beta today.

Product Updates

Volcano Energy and Luxor Technology Corporation have launched Lava Pool, the first Bitcoin mining pool in El Salvador. The pool is powered by abundant renewable geothermal energy and will help El Salvador's energy infrastructure by providing flexible load management capabilities and by reinvesting profits into energy transmission and distribution infrastructure. This partnership aims to help El Salvador lead the way in harnessing Bitcoin mining and renewable energy.

Unchained, a leading financial services provider for bitcoin holders, has added the blockchain protection provider Coincover to its network of collaborative custody partners, allowing bitcoin holders to distribute their private keys among several entities for risk-mitigation. Coincover provides a complete blockchain protection solution to ensure access and assets are never lost. This solution is a completely new form of custody for securing private wealth and enterprise bitcoin holdings.

Onramp Bitcoin, a bitcoin asset management platform built on multi-institution custody, launched The Onramp Terminal. The terminal offers real-time Bitcoin market analytics targeted at institutional allocators. Creating an account is free and the terminal is free to use.
