Company Updates 

Unchained, a leader in financial services for bitcoin holders, has partnered with Build Asset Management, a registered investment advisor, to offer more borrowers the opportunity to access the value of their bitcoin via collateralized lending. Unchained has seen a 170% increase in lending activity since 2021 and has originated over $500 million in loans with no dollar losses.

Deutsche Bank, one of the world's largest financial service providers, has partnered with Taurus, a Swiss cryptocurrency firm, to offer institutional clients Bitcoin and crypto custody services. The move comes as regulatory clarity around the industry is improving, and is seen as an attempt to capture a share of the growing institutional investor interest in Bitcoin.

Laser Digital, a subsidiary of multi-billion dollar asset manager Nomura, has launched a Bitcoin Adoption Fund as part of a series of investment solutions. The fund is designed to be a secure option for institutions by offering long-only exposure to bitcoin. The fund is another example of onramps into bitcoin for institutions and signals demand is growing.

Slice and Bitrefill have partnered to give users new opportunities to spend their bitcoin on everyday items and larger items like dream vacations. Bitrefill offers gaming products like Steam, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop, allowing users to purchase video games with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The companies are working to redefine online earnings and spending, aiming to create an ecosystem with profit-sharing and user engagement.

Product Updates

Nunchuk released its new collaborative custody platform called Byzantine which is designed for Bitcoin advisors who wish to offer multi-user multisig wallets for their clients. It offers advanced tools for collaboration, wallet and key management, advisory tools, and long-term inheritance planning with privacy and security in mind. Early access to the platform is available now.

Amboss has launched Hydro, a subscription-based solution to simplify payments over the Lightning Network without requiring centralized custodians. It allows users to access liquidity from decentralized sources and set target inbound liquidity, helping to boost adoption of the Lightning Network.

BTCPay Server is collaborating with Spiral and LDK to develop the BTCPay App that will enable brick-and-mortar businesses to accept non-custodial lightning payments on mobile. The goal is to make bitcoin more user-friendly and accessible without the need for intermediaries.
