We believe that Bitcoin stands alone as the single most important digital currency. We also believe that in the coming years, more and more individuals will look to transition to a career in Bitcoin. At the same time, more and more Bitcoin-focused companies will be born that must vie for this talent. We seek to help all of these companies succeed in that arena.

Our Mission: To help the Bitcoin network flourish by equipping bitcoin-focused companies with world class talent. We will offer the following:

Bitcoin Talent Co. was formed by industry veterans with diverse backgrounds and expertise in and out of the ecosystem seeking to provide support to the Bitcoin ecosystem as the industry matures.

Bitcoin Talent Co. is the first recruiting firm to focus exclusively on the Bitcoin landscape. We see through the noise of crypto, blockchain, Web3, and all other buzzwords to help Bitcoin-focused companies operate at scale.

Our Thesis:

  • Bitcoin is the greatest technological invention that will grant inalienable property rights and financial independence to individuals.

  • Bitcoin will power global finance, establishing itself as the accepted reserve currency.

  • Bitcoin will revolutionize the internet and technology infrastructure of the future, thus making all companies Bitcoin companies just like all companies today are “internet” or “technology” companies.

  • The majority of world class talent and companies have not yet entered the Bitcoin ecosystem.

  • Bitcoin-focused products or services built by Bitcoiners will accelerate the time it takes to reach global adoption

  • A clear distinction between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from both a technology standpoint and community perspective.

  • A deep understanding of Bitcoin is needed to vet potential candidates.

Our Experience:

Founded by Andy Thompson, Michael Tanguma, and Eric Podwojski, Bitcoin Talent Co. collectively brings 30 years of experience in Recruiting, Operations, Venture Capital and Media across companies like Uber, Google, WeWork, Unchained Capital, and Bitcoin Magazine.

Andy Thompson built many of Uber’s internal teams during their period of hypergrowth, supported many early stage startups as a practice director at a boutique search firm, then started a recruiting agency of his own focusing on technology companies across the Americas and Europe. Michael Tanguma has a technology background previously helping Google and WeWork scale before leading growth at Unchained Capital and works with dozens of Bitcoin-focused startups by being a partner at Ten31, a Bitcoin venture capital firm. Lastly, Eric Podwojski brings experience building Bitcoin-focused companies of his own and worked more recently in-house at Bitcoin Magazine where he quickly grew his network in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

All three founders have seen talent be a bottleneck for Bitcoin-focused startups and decided to solve this problem by forming Bitcoin Talent Co.

Our Vision:

Posting a job and diligently reviewing inbound applications are required for any company who is actively hiring, however this activity is not even half of the battle.

The vast majority of the workforce is made up of passive talent who are not actively seeking a job and talent teams find a measurably higher number of high-quality candidates through outbound sourcing than from inbound applications. Recent data shows that sourced candidates are actually 5x more likely to be hired than inbound candidates, with passthrough rates for outbound vs. inbound candidates also being significantly higher at the top of the funnel (67% vs. 8%). Furthermore, an organized and thoughtfully managed recruiting process can shorten the hiring cycle and greatly improve quality.

Recruiting firms have been providing value across all industries for decades, so we are not necessarily reinventing the wheel – we are, however, the first to combine this experience of building interview processes, sourcing passive talent, and executing searches with a deep understanding of the Bitcoin landscape.

Aside from core recruiting services, Bitcoin Talent Co. is developing education and onboarding modules for both Bitcoin and traditional fiat companies. As Bitcoin grows in market capitalization, talent from other industries will seek to take their skillset to the Bitcoin landscape. Our goal is to make sure these professionals possess a basic level of understanding about Bitcoin so they can effectively develop bitcoin product or service offerings while maintaining a culture fit suitable for Bitcoin companies. We aim to help these professionals find the signal through the noise.

Lastly, we have assembled a team of core advisors to help Bitcoin-focused startups grow to the next level. Any of our partners can leverage our advisory services, including our advisor team, to strategize ways to access funding, go to market, and vet potential hires. Our initial advisors include:
